Job summary

Dark Wolf is seeking a Cloud Operations Support Specialist (Tier 2) to be the frontline escalation point for AWS environments. You will handle Tier 1 escalations, monitor health, manage incidents, backups, and capacity, and perform standard operational changes.

You will document SOPs, runbooks, and KB articles to empower Tier 1 resolution and ensure high availability and security for mission-critical cloud systems.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience in IT help desk or Tier 2 support.
• Hands-on AWS experience (EC2, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, VPC).
• Experience with incident, problem, and service request workflows in GitLab.
• Proven ability to monitor performance, backups, and capacity in cloud environments.
• Strong Linux/Windows troubleshooting and basic cloud networking.
• Excellent written and verbal technical communication; SOP/KB authoring.
• US Citizenship with active Top Secret/Secret clearance as required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary Tier 2 escalation point for Tier 1 tickets, diagnosing and resolving complex issues before escalating.
• Proactively monitor cloud infrastructure and service metrics to detect alerts before impact.
• Check backups, snapshots, and storage capacity; adjust configurations as thresholds are exceeded.
• Investigate and resolve operational incidents per SLAs; perform root cause analysis and trend documentation.
• Execute approved standard changes and routine maintenance following change-management procedures.
• Coordinate with Tier 1, Tier 3 engineers, and security for smooth handoffs and updates.
• Create and maintain SOPs, runbooks, and KB articles for faster Tier 1 resolutions.
