Job summary

Dark Wolf is seeking a Cloud Operations Support Specialist (Tier 2) to join our team and serve as the frontline escalation point for maintaining, monitoring, and operating our AWS cloud environments. You will handle Tier 1 escalations, monitor system health, incident response, backups, and routine changes while ensuring high availability and security for critical cloud systems.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in IT support, hands-on AWS experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and a US security

Qualifications

• 2+ years in IT help desk or Tier 2 support
• Hands-on AWS infrastructure experience (EC2, S3, IAM, CloudWatch)
• Experience with incident, problem, and service request workflows in GitLab
• Experience monitoring performance, backups, and capacity in cloud/hybrid environments
• Strong troubleshooting across Linux/Windows and basic cloud networking
• Excellent written and verbal technical communication; experience with SOPs/KBs
• US Citizen with active Top Secret security clearance (or ability to obtain)

Responsibilities

• Serve as Tier 2 escalation point for Tier 1 tickets, diagnose and resolve complex issues in AWS environments
• Monitor cloud infrastructure and metrics using AWS tools to detect alerts before impact
• Check backups, snapshots, and storage capacity; adjust as thresholds are exceeded
• Triage and resolve incidents per SLAs; perform root cause analysis and document trends
• Execute approved standard changes and routine maintenance following change-management procedures
• Coordinate with Tier 1, Tier 3 engineers, and security for smooth handoffs and documentation
• Author and maintain SOPs, runbooks, and KB articles for Tier 1 resolution and incident learning
