Job summary

CGS Federal seeks a Cloud Engineer (AWS) to support engineering, security, and operations for a large federal agency. The role requires a strong grasp of cloud SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS fundamentals and hands-on AWS experience.

You will design scalable, secure solutions and help prepare necessary documentation for compliance and operations. The team emphasizes collaboration, growth, and delivering high-quality government technology solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in CS/engineering or related field.
• 4–7 years of IT experience in support of federal agencies.
• 4+ years designing and/or supporting highly distributed applications with strong architectural skills.
• Hands-on AWS experience required.
• Experience designing large-scale production-ready solutions.
• Strong understanding of SaaS, PaaS and IaaS fundamentals.
• Familiar with lift-and-shift migrations and cloud migration methodologies.
• AWS certification or Cloud Architect certification desired.

Responsibilities

• Design solutions that maximize flexibility and scalability while meeting security controls.
• Support the development of documentation to support engineering, security, and operations.
• Perform business and technical analysis to aid customer decisions.
• Facilitate transition of the solution to operations and ensure ongoing operation within expected boundaries.
• Develop cloud-based solution designs and implementation plans based on customer needs.
