Job description

New Jersey, United States of America; Texas, United States or America

Commvault (NASDAQ: CVLT) delivers continuous recovery for the AI era. We help organizations stay ready for constant disruption by returning critical data, applications, identities, and AI systems to a clean, trusted state. Our purpose-built recovery solutions span cloud-native and hybrid environments, leveraging AI to enable resilience at enterprise scale.

Commvault is seeking an AVP of Strategic Technology Alliances to lead our global organization responsible for our most important technology partnerships.

Commvault is redefining what it means to be resilient. Commvault Cloud brings together data security, identity resilience, and cyber recovery in one intelligent platform, helping enterprises protect what matters and recover completely in an increasingly complex world shaped by cyber threats, cloud transformation, and AI.

This Senior Leader will own the strategy and growth of a global portfolio of hardware OEM, ISV and AI partnerships, as well as other established and emerging technology partners. These partnerships span joint technology development, integrated solutions, OEM and resale, co-sell, joint go-to-market, and global field execution

This is much more than a relationship-management role. The mandate is to turn Commvault's strategic technology ecosystem into a scalable source of revenue growth, technology differentiation, market access, and customer value.

What You’ll Do…
  • Lead our global technology alliance strategy
  • Define the strategy and operating model for Commvault's portfolio of strategic technology alliances.
  • Prioritize partnerships based on revenue potential, customer value, technology differentiation, market access, and strategic relevance.
  • Build multi-year joint business plans with measurable commercial and technology outcomes.
  • Identify and develop emerging partnerships across infrastructure, cloud, security, AI, and adjacent technology categories.
  • Drive measurable revenue growth
  • Own the commercial performance of the portfolio, including partner-sourced and partner-influenced pipeline, co-sell revenue, OEM/resale revenue, new logos, and expansion.
  • Build repeatable joint selling motions across strategic accounts, enterprise, commercial, and public-sector markets.
  • Establish rigorous pipeline, forecasting, conversion, and executive inspection with our priority partners.
  • Connect global alliance strategy to field execution across the Americas, EMEA, APJ, and India.
  • Turn technology partnerships into differentiated solutions
  • Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing to define and execute joint technology roadmaps.
  • Drive integrations, validated architectures, solution development, technical certification, labs, demonstrations, and proof-of-concept capabilities.
  • Translate technical innovation into differentiated customer solutions and scalable go-to-market plays.
  • Connect the technology partner ecosystem to Commvault's strategy around unified cyber resilience, clean recovery, and ResilienceOps.
  • Build scalable routes to market
  • Develop the right commercial model for each relationship, including co-sell, OEM, resale, marketplace, consumption, and channel-led motions.
  • Activate partner and Commvault sales organizations around priority solutions and accounts.
  • Create multi-partner opportunities across Commvault's broader ecosystem when strategic technology partners can amplify channel, MSP, or GSI routes to market.
  • Lead at the executive level
  • Build trusted relationships with senior executives across our most important technology partners.
  • Establish executive sponsorship, governance, and accountability for each strategic relationship.
  • Lead executive business reviews focused on growth, investment, technology priorities, competitive positioning, and removing barriers to execution.
  • Represent Commvault in strategic customer engagements, negotiations, and partner executive forums.
  • Build and lead a world-class organization
  • Lead and develop Commvault's global Strategic Technology Alliances team.
  • Create clear accountability by partner, geography, and business outcome.
  • Build a culture that combines executive relationship management with strong commercial, technical, and operational discipline.
Who you are…
  • 15+ years of leadership experience in enterprise technology, strategic alliances, business development, partner sales, or ecosystem go-to-market.
  • Demonstrated success leading global teams and complex strategic technology partnerships.
  • Proven ability to generate material revenue and pipeline through technology alliances.
  • Experience building and scaling co-sell, OEM, resale, marketplace, and integrated-solution business models.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity, data protection, storage, and emerging technologies.
  • Ability to work credibly with Product and Engineering leaders on technology strategy while engaging Sales leaders on pipeline, conversion, and revenue.
  • Demonstrated success building C-suite relationships within large global technology companies.
  • Strong financial and analytical discipline with experience managing investments and measuring partner ROI.
  • Ability to navigate relationships where a strategic partner may simultaneously be a technology provider, route to market, customer, and competitor.
Success will be measured by business impact, including:
  • Partner-sourced and partner-influenced ARR and pipeline
  • Co-sell, OEM, and resale revenue
  • New-logo acquisition and expansion
  • Pipeline conversion, win rates, and average deal size
  • Joint-solution adoption and attach rates
  • Partner seller and technical activation
  • Competitive wins
  • Return on alliance investments

These measures align closely with the existing strategic partner plans, which emphasize bookings, pipeline coverage, new logos, partner readiness, joint solution adoption, and investment return.

The Leader We Want:

You think like a general manager, not simply an alliance manager. You understand how to connect technology strategy, joint solutions, routes to market, field execution, and revenue.

You know when to invest aggressively and when to make hard portfolio choices. You can move comfortably from a product-roadmap discussion with a CTO to a pipeline review with a CRO. And you know that a strategic partnership only matters when it produces measurable value for customers, partners, and Commvault.

Commvault's values are We Connect, We Inspire, We Care, and We Deliver. We’re looking for a leader who lives those values and can turn ambitious strategic relationships into measurable outcomes.
