Job summary

LPL Financial in Fort Mill, SC is seeking an AVP, Release Train Engineer to coordinate enterprise program management across complex technology initiatives. You will partner with project teams, scrum teams, and vendors to drive alignment to program objectives and governance.

Strong budget management and reporting experience is required. The role requires 7+ years managing large IT programs and 3+ years as an RTE in Agile environments, with experience across Agile/Waterfall SDLC.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of managing large IT programs with budgets up to $5M.
  • 3+ years of experience serving as a Release Train Engineer (RTE) in an Agile environment.
  • 3+ years of experience managing programs across Agile and/or Waterfall SDLC methodologies.
  • Experience using enterprise tools such as JIRA and Confluence for program tracking and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate across project, scrum, technology, business, and vendor teams to align delivery outcomes to program and portfolio OKRs.
  • Manage program budgets, including tracking actuals versus forecast and partnering with finance to ensure accurate reporting and funding alignment.
  • Oversee demand intake within the PDLC framework, ensuring alignment to capacity, funding availability, and prioritization standards.
  • Facilitate resolution of risks, dependencies, and conflicts while applying appropriate escalation paths.
  • Guide project managers and scrum masters to ensure alignment with delivery standards and program goals.
  • Identify, track, and remove impediments impacting program execution and delivery timelines.
  • Assess program‑level risks and communicate key issues and dependencies to portfolio leadership.
  • Deliver recurring program status reports, including weekly updates, bi‑weekly health reporting, and monthly portfolio review inputs.
  • Ensure adherence to SDLC standards, governance processes, and enterprise delivery frameworks.

Job Overview

The AVP, Release Train Engineer (RTE) serves as a key member of the Enterprise Program Management Office (EPMO), providing program management support across complex technology initiatives. This role partners with project teams, scrum teams, business stakeholders, and vendors to drive alignment to program and portfolio objectives. The RTE is responsible for coordinating delivery, managing financials, supporting intake and governance processes, and ensuring visibility into program performance and execution health.

Responsibilities

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Computer Science, Information Systems, Communications, or a related technical field
  • 7+ years of experience managing large‑scale IT programs with budgets up to $5M
  • 3+ years of experience serving as a Release Train Engineer (RTE) in an Agile environment
  • 3+ years of experience managing programs across Agile and/or Waterfall SDLC methodologies
  • Experience using enterprise tools such as JIRA and Confluence for program tracking and reporting
Preferences
  • Experience managing vendor performance and third‑party delivery partners
  • Experience facilitating requirements gathering and solution workshops
  • Experience with financial governance processes including budget forecasting and variance tracking
  • Experience with Planview or similar portfolio management and time tracking tools
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office tools including Microsoft Project or similar project management platforms
Pay Range

$112,064.00 - $186,842.00
Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
