Job summary

PURE is seeking an AVP of Product Management for Underwriting & Product Technology in Boston. You will lead technology prioritization across underwriting and product, shaping the backlog and governance needed to align business value with capacity.

You will partner with IT and business leaders to define readiness criteria, improve requirements documentation, and drive clear decisions on what work proceeds and when.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in product management or technology portfolio roles.
• Insurance background in personal lines underwriting.
• Ability to prioritize under competing demands and drive decisions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, including senior stakeholders.
• Experience building operating processes from scratch (intake, governance, cadences, reporting).
• Familiar with agile practices (backlogs, epics, features, capacity planning).
• CSPO/PSPO/SAFe PM/PO or similar certification preferred.
• Bachelor's degree required.

Responsibilities

• Define the prioritization framework across Underwriting and Product, including review, value assignment, and decision criteria.
• Design and run the operating model: governance forums, cadences, agendas, escalation paths, and status reporting.
• Own and refine the cross-team backlog to stay aligned with business objectives.
• Facilitate prioritization forums with business owners and IT, managing trade-offs and decisions.
• Partner with IT leadership on capacity planning and breaking work from epic to feature.
• Define requirements and acceptance criteria, and improve how they are documented and signed off.
