The Associate Vice President, Pharmacy Product Management is a critical role in the Pharmacy Business Development team, responsible for all of the phases of the product life cycle. This position will lead all discovery, research, product development, and product implementation efforts. This role will collaborate heavily with Operations, IT, Sales, Growth teams, and Digital.

The Associate Vice President will report directly to the SVP of Pharmacy Business Development and will lead an organization of approximately eight associates. This position can be located anywhere within the lower 48 states and does not require relocation.

Product Development Management

  • Lead the end-to-end product development lifecycle, from ideation through to launch and ongoing management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, operations, digital, and IT, to ensure successful product execution.
  • Drive product lifecycle using an informative, agile approach.

Market Research and Analysis

  • Conduct comprehensive market research to understand competitive landscapes, emerging trends, and customer preferences.
  • Utilize data-driven insights to inform product development decisions and prioritize product features.
  • Partner with Government Affairs to monitor changes in legislation and regulations that may impact product offerings and adjust strategies accordingly.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including healthcare providers, manufacturers, payers, and regulatory bodies, to ensure product alignment with market needs.
  • Communicate product vision and updates effectively to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain a strong focus on customer needs and preferences throughout the product development process.
  • Ensure that products are developed with the end-user in mind, providing value and improving patient care.

  • Functioning as a key leader on the Business Development team, with the ability to be a strategic thought-partner and to synthesize and communicate complex ideas.

Financial Management

  • Develop and manage budgets for product development initiatives, ensuring alignment with financial targets.
  • Analyze product performance metrics and financial data to assess profitability and make recommendations for improvement.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement

  • Promote a culture of innovation by encouraging the exploration of new ideas and technologies that can enhance product offerings.
  • Implement processes for continuous feedback and improvement based on customer and market insights.
  • Implement structured processes that streamline the product development lifecycle from ideation to launch.
  • Establish metrics and KPIs to measure process efficiency and product success.

Key Candidate Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree plus equivalent experience
  • 10 years of technical experience
  • 8 or more years management experience
  • Experience bringing products to scale
  • Experience with the product development lifecycle
  • Strong client relationship skills
  • Demonstrated success as a collaborative leader
  • Demonstrated openness to teaching and guiding others, bringing them along on the journey
Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.$203,400 - $279,800 per yearThis job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
