Job summary

Oaktree seeks an experienced Assistant Vice President for the Deal and Cash Operations team to lead private deal investment accounting, including recording deal activity, lifecycle events, and cash movements. You will ensure accurate entries in Oaktree’s accounting system and collaborate with investment teams, fund accounting, and external counterparties.

Qualifications

• 9–11 years of experience at an asset management firm, investment bank, or related financial services company.
• Investment Accounting and Operations experience with Alternative Investments including Private Credit, Real Assets, Syndicated Loans, Private Equity, and Asset-Backed Finance.
• Processing transactions, credit activity, and accounting entries in Advent Geneva and Global World Investor.
• Excel expertise with data analysis, pivot tables, charts and formulas.
• SharePoint, Power BI, SQL and VBA are pluses.
• Track record of process improvement.
• Experience working with complex fund and deal entity structures.

Responsibilities

• Translate deal documents into accounting records reflecting deal economics.
• Identify and record investment proceeds promptly and accurately.
• Process deal lifecycle events from an accounting perspective.
• Manage cash movements and ensure proper bookings in the accounting system.
• Coordinate funding and closing of private deal transactions within tight timelines.
• Respond to inquiries from investment teams, auditors, fund accounting, custodians, and counterparties.
• Stage FX orders and hedge currency risk.
• Forecast cash balances and monitor overdrafts across currencies.
• Support cross-functional initiatives in private deal workflows.
