Job summary

Apogem Capital seeks an Assistant Vice President to oversee accounting, reporting, and operations for a portfolio of private equity funds. You will review fund accounting deliverables and manage day-to-day relations with fund admins, auditors, and internal partners.

The role requires reviewing transactions under US GAAP, coordinating with administrators for financial statements, and ensuring internal controls are followed. Leadership and mentoring of junior staff are part of the scope.

Qualifications

• CPA strongly preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with 5–7 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience with a fund administrator and auditors.
• Strong knowledge of private equity structures and US GAAP accounting requirements.
• Proficient using Investran and Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to meet challenging deadlines while maintaining quality.

Responsibilities

• Oversee fund operating activities (investor and portfolio level).
• Perform cash and credit facility management relating to funds.
• Daily review of financial transactions in Investran on a US GAAP basis for private equity funds.
• Review data related to investments, investors, and legal entities for reporting.
• Review fund administrator deliverables (financial statements, capital accounts, capital calls, distributions, fees, NAV).
• Approve waterfalls and carried interest calculations.
• Coordinate with fund administrators for quarterly/annual statements.
• Collaborate with external auditors to ensure timely audits.
• Onboard and set up entities in Investran and administrator systems.
• Approve performance metrics for investments and investors.
• Ensure internal controls and accounting policies are followed.
• Manage multiple funds and deadlines.
• Work within Unqork and Investran workflows.
• Address regulatory, investor, and management reporting requests.
• Interact with investor relations, legal, tax, marketing, and investment teams.
• Manage and train junior resources (if applicable).
• Interpret partnership agreements for fund operations.
• Participate in special projects to enhance processes.
