Job summary

Pacific Life in Newport Beach seeks an Assistant Vice President, Portfolio & Program Management Office to lead the CMD's PMO. You will steer programs across transformation, underwriting, operations, and distribution, translating strategy into actionable roadmaps and measurable outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 12+ years of leadership in portfolio management, PMO leadership, strategic planning, program delivery, or large-scale transformation.
• Proven success leading complex, cross-functional portfolios with business impact.
• Deep expertise in portfolio planning, investment governance, capacity/resource management, risk, and benefits realization.
• Experience translating strategy into executable priorities, roadmaps, governance, and measurable outcomes.
• Strong financial acumen and ability to manage portfolio tradeoffs and resources.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Consumer Markets Division's portfolio management and PMO, ensuring investments and programs align with priorities and outcomes.
• Establish and strengthen portfolio planning, prioritization, capacity management, and governance practices.
• Oversee delivery of the division's complex, high-impact programs across transformation, underwriting, operations, and sales.
• Provide senior leaders with clear portfolio insights, risk transparency, and executive-level reporting.
• Collaborate with enterprise functions to resolve barriers and accelerate business outcomes.
• Balance strategic transformation with ongoing work to serve customers and partners.
• Lead governance processes for decision-making, investment oversight, and resource deployment.
• Standardize delivery practices while preserving agility to meet changing priorities.
• Develop and inspire a high-performing team within the PMO and build future capabilities.
• Foster accountability and collaboration while navigating ambiguity in an evolving enterprise model.
• Represent CMD in enterprise portfolio planning and governance.
