Job summary

MTA Metro-North Railroad is seeking an Assistant Vice President for Planning & Quality to lead strategic maintenance programs for rolling stock and facilities, ensuring compliance with federal regulations and safety standards.

This senior role guides long-range planning, schedules, and quality assurance, overseeing staff development and aligning with the Maintenance of Equipment department to support reliable service from Grand Central area.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Engineering, Science, Business Management or Industrial Management or related field.
• 12+ years of progressively more complex general management in rolling stock or fleet maintenance.
• 10+ years of experience managing a diverse group of employees.

Responsibilities

• Develop long-range strategic plans for maintenance of rolling stock and facilities.
• Oversee quality assurance and compliance processes and KPI development.
• Forecast fleet and facility needs and develop maintenance schedules.
• Lead and develop staff, provide coaching, and monitor performance.
• Ensure budgeting and internal controls are in place for MofE operations.
