Job summary

State Street’s Legal Department seeks an Assistant Vice President, Legal Data Engineering to own the engineering and reliability of Legal data products and platforms. You will design data pipelines, models, and metadata standards to support reporting, analytics, and operations.

You will partner with Technology and Legal stakeholders to ensure data quality, implement robust controls, and support AI-enabled data use cases with curated training data and metadata standardization.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or equivalent required.
• Experience building and supporting data pipelines, integrations, or data products in an enterprise environment.
• Strong SQL skills and relational database/data modeling knowledge.
• Familiarity with Databricks notebooks, jobs/workflows, and Delta Lake concepts.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex data/platform issues and drive root-cause resolution.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and support Legal data pipelines and integrations.
• Develop and maintain data models, metadata standards, and reusable data assets.
• Support ad hoc reporting by producing reliable datasets and validating results.
• Implement data quality controls and coordinate with data owners.
• Collaborate with Technology on architecture, security, and access patterns.
• Support release management for platform changes and post-release verification.
• Prepare Legal data for AI use cases by curating training datasets and metadata.
• Build and run AI-enabled pipelines to tag, classify, and enrich Legal content and contract metadata.
