Job summary

Fortitude Reinsurance Company Ltd. in Nashville seeks an AVP, Investment Accounting Manager to lead the investment accounting team through month-end and quarter-end closes. You will analyze net investment income, gains/losses, yields, and balances across GAAP/STAT, while supporting Capital teams and SOX controls.

You will partner with front-office teams, develop automated reporting, and drive process improvements. A CPA and 7+ years in investment accounting for insurance/reinsurance are ideal.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or graduate degree in Accounting or Finance, with CPA or equivalent.
• 7+ years accounting experience, 3+ years in investment accounting for insurance/reinsurance with BIG 4 background.
• Experience with U.S. GAAP and STAT reporting.
• Public company SOX controls experience.
• Life, Annuities and P&C knowledge desired.
• Strong leadership and project management skills.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building across teams.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day of the investment accounting team and month/quarter close.
• Manage reporting under GAAP and STAT for a complex investment portfolio.
• Lead external audits and assist with audit work papers.
• Develop automated investment reporting tools to improve efficiency.
• Mentor and build a high-performing investment accounting team.
• Coordinate with front-office and asset managers on reporting needs.
