Job summary

Fortitude Reinsurance Company Ltd. in the United States seeks a Senior Associate of Investment Accounting to compile monthly and quarterly investment data, analyze net investment income, gains and losses, yields, and balances, and support GL entries, reconciliations, and audit activities.

You will report to the VP, Derivative Accounting, participate in system enhancements, onboarding of new portfolios, regulatory filings, and drive automation and AI-enabled improvements across the investment

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or graduate degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum of 5 years in insurance or financial services.
• Strong ledger and analytical tool background.
• Knowledge of GAAP and STAT investment accounting principles.
• Familiarity with ASC 815 derivatives.

Responsibilities

• Support accounting close with journal entries and reconciliations.
• Analyze investment income, yields, fair value changes, gains/losses.
• Assist with statutory and GAAP disclosures and footnotes.
• Onboard new investment portfolios related to block acquisitions.
• Support Bermuda Monetary Authority regulatory filings and data requests.
• Ensure control procedures over asset classes incl. derivatives and real estate.
• Provide data for Bermuda reporting and Economic Balance Sheets.
• Collaborate with audit teams for evidence of internal controls.
• Lead private equity data extraction and system uploads.
• Drive improvements in investment close cycle and automation.
