Job summary

Fortitude Reinsurance Company Ltd. (Fortitude Re) is seeking an AVP, Financial Controls to establish and maintain ICFR in line with SEC and SOX requirements. You will integrate MAR and BMA reporting, drive improvements, and partner with senior leaders across finance and compliance.

The role is based in Nashville, TN on a hybrid basis, reporting to the SVP, Head of Finance Operations. A CPA and strong GAAP/Statutory knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or higher; CPA or equivalent designation preferred.
• 6+ years in Life & Annuities, with public company exposure.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and US Statutory Accounting principles; SOX/ICFR experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead ICFR program risk assessment and scoping; monitor changes and deficiencies.
• Remediate deficiencies with management and external auditors for public readiness.
• Coordinate with internal/external auditors to optimize ICFR testing and reporting.
• Develop ICFR communications for stakeholders and Audit Committee.
• Drive automation and consistency of controls using financial systems.
