Job summary

Pacific Life seeks an AVP, Privacy Risk & Governance to lead the Global Privacy Program, covering privacy, data protection, AI governance, and records management. You will partner with senior leaders to strengthen compliance, mitigate risk, and support business objectives within a blended hybrid model.

The role requires 15+ years in privacy/related fields and 10+ years of leadership, with relocation assistance and quarterly travel to Newport Beach. Hybrid work four days in the office is expected.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in privacy, compliance, legal, risk management, or related field.
• 10+ years of people leadership experience.
• Certifications in privacy, data governance, cybersecurity, or AI governance preferred.
• Experience in life insurance or similarly regulated industries preferred.
• Strong knowledge of global privacy laws (CCPA, HIPAA, GLBA, GDPR).

Responsibilities

• Lead Pacific Life's Global Privacy Program and governance across privacy, AI governance, and records management.
• Monitor regulatory developments and translate them into actionable compliance initiatives.
• Direct privacy risk assessments and mitigate enterprise privacy risks.
• Oversee privacy incidents with Senior Privacy Counsel and act as escalation point.
• Collaborate with Risk Management, Information Security, Third-Party Risk, and business leaders to scale privacy capabilities.
• Identify emerging risks and implement repeatable processes to improve program effectiveness.
• Build and lead a high-performing privacy team with accountability and growth.
