Job summary

Fortitude Re seeks an AVP, Financial Close Leader to direct enterprise-wide financial processes for consistency and efficiency. The role oversees audit coordination, strategic finance initiatives, and collaboration with Data & Analytics to ensure data-driven operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or Accounting preferred; Operations or Project Management a plus.
• 7+ years of professional experience in insurance or financial services.
• Strong knowledge of (re)insurance or other financial markets.
• Knowledge of audit processes and regulatory compliance.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills across all levels.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to implement solutions.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong planning abilities.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic initiatives to accelerate financial deliverables and timely reporting.
• Manage the Finance Strategic Management System and align with organizational goals, including tracking issues and skills interviews.
• Oversee end-to-end program management of finance activities, maintain a comprehensive calendar, and communicate progress against milestones.
• Collaborate with Data & Analytics and other Finance teams to identify process improvements and automation opportunities.
• Prepare executive communications and presentations for internal and external audiences, including board and audit committee material.
• Support audit planning and coordination with PwC and the audit committee.
