Job summary

WSP USA seeks an experienced Assistant Vice President, Electrical Engineer for its Jacksonville, FL office to lead healthcare electrical design initiatives and business development within the Property & Buildings group. The ideal candidate will bring a PE license, strong project leadership, and a robust Florida network to help grow our practice in Jacksonville.

The role covers full project cycles from concept to close-out on high-profile healthcare, life sciences, labs, and manufacturing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering.
• 10+ years post-education experience as electrical engineer.
• Professional Engineering license required.
• Extensive knowledge of electrical design, particularly in the healthcare industry.
• Known in the local community with an extensive network.
• Experience with electrical planning, design, and construction management; including involvement in renovation/new design projects.
• Well-defined knowledge of engineering and electrical construction laws, codes and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, review and approve electrical design plans for code compliance.
• Apply high-level electrical engineering techniques across project phases from concept to construction close-out.
• Plan and integrate future-ready techniques and design requirements for safety and usability.
• Lead design and construction management of electrical systems across projects.
• Oversee cross-functional teams, budgets, and regulatory documentation.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations for design issues and opportunities.
• Manage client relationships and contribute to pursuit efforts.
• Develop relationships with key stakeholders and adhere to company policies.
