Job summary

WSP USA is seeking an experienced Assistant Vice President, Mechanical Engineer for its Jacksonville, FL location to lead healthcare design projects within the Property & Buildings practice. The role requires extensive healthcare design knowledge, a PE license, and strong leadership and business development capabilities in the local market.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering.
• 10+ years of relevant post-education experience in engineering with mechanical design experience.
• Professional Engineering license required.
• Extensive knowledge of mechanical design, particularly in healthcare.
• Strong local network in the Jacksonville area is a plus.
• Experience with design/build, permitting, and project work.
• Knowledge of applicable codes, regulations, and compliance practices.
• Ability to perform technical calculations and coordinate teams.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, review and approve mechanical design plans, ensuring compliance with codes and regulations.
• Apply engineering techniques to concept development through construction.
• Plan for future-ready operating strategies and design requirements for end-users.
• Manage design and construction of electrical systems across projects.
• Oversee cross-functional teams, budgets, hours, expenses and regulatory memos.
• Prepare data visualizations, reports, and technical presentations.
