Job summary

WSP USA is seeking an Assistant Vice President, Electrical Engineer to join the Property & Buildings team in California. The role supports complex building projects from concept to close-out, with emphasis on K-12, higher education, civic facilities, and commercial developments.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years of post‑education experience, deep knowledge of building electrical systems, and a track record in leadership, client engagement, and business development within the California market.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering required.
• 10+ years of post‑education experience as an Electrical Engineer.
• Strong knowledge of electrical design for building projects, including education/institutional sectors.
• Proven leadership and project management experience; PE license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, review, and approve electrical design plans per codes and regs.
• Lead electrical design across concept through construction phases.
• Develop future-ready design strategies for safety and long-term performance.
• Manage electrical design and construction activities from inception to completion.
• Mentor cross-functional engineering teams on budgets, schedules, and quality.
• Prepare technical documentation, reports, and presentations.
• Support pursuits and proposals with technical input and client interviews.
• Develop strong client relationships and collaborate with leadership.
