Job summary

LPL Financial is seeking an AVP Software Engineer to lead the Developer Experience Platform Development and Self-Service automation teams. You will drive solution design, coding, and platform management while enabling faster, more productive developer workflows.

You will mentor teams, participate in Agile practices, and collaborate with security, architecture, and cloud teams to deliver scalable, secure APIs and web solutions. Strong leadership and hands-on cloud experience are essential.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of end-to-end application development in .NET, Angular, TS and Python for cloud apps.
• 1+ years with Backstage.io or similar internal developer platforms, plugin development in .NET/React.
• 5+ years in Self Service App, infra and one-click automation and orchestration.
• Minimum 2 years orchestration platform experience (EKS, OpenShift).
• 8+ years AWS cloud dev & automation (IAM, API gateway, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Drive engineering solutions, best practices, design, and development of cloud-native solutions.
• Participate in Agile Scrum, PI Planning, and estimate milestones with Scrum Master, RTE, and PM.
• Lead code reviews, design sessions, demos, and knowledge-sharing through developer community events.
• Engage partner teams to understand pain points and drive improvements.
• Maintain documentation including Runbooks, DR strategy, release management, and design docs; coordinate onsite/offshore delivery.
• Hands-on development across Web, API, and Mobile; address security, testing, and platform scaffolding.
• Collaborate with Architecture, Security, Platform Eng, QA, Cloud teams to deliver API/Web reference designs.
• Drive innovation and automation to simplify challenges and boost developer productivity.
