Job summary

Questpro Consultants LLC seeks an Assistant Vice President, Commercial Lines Underwriting in Seattle, on-site, to lead underwriting teams and shape the strategy for profitable growth while maintaining strong risk management and client service.

Responsibilities include coaching leaders, developing plans for pricing and portfolio performance, coordinating with Product, Actuarial, Claims, and Sales, and upholding underwriting standards across the organization.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of P&C insurance leadership experience with a strong commercial underwriting background.
• Proven experience leading underwriting teams and managing commercial books of business.
• Strong knowledge of commercial insurance products and underwriting practices.
• Excellent leadership, communication, decision-making, and relationship-building skills.
• Experience with underwriting systems, pricing tools, and analytics.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop underwriting leaders and teams.
• Develop strategies and business plans supporting profitable growth, retention, pricing, and portfolio performance.
• Partner with Product, Actuarial, Claims, Sales, and other teams to improve results.
• Manage agency/vendor relationships and ensure adherence to underwriting standards and regulations.
• Monitor market trends and competitive conditions to identify opportunities.
• Foster a collaborative, accountable, high-performing culture.
