Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Senior Technical Manager, Assistant Vice President, Civil Engineering to join our Northeast Civil Transportation team in New York. The role can be based in NYC or Valhalla, NY and focuses on complex transportation projects across public agencies.

You will lead a team of civil engineers, mentor staff, coordinate with clients and project leads, and ensure high‑quality deliverables including drawings, specs and calculations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or closely related discipline.
• 10+ years of civil engineering experience with substantial NYC public‑infrastructure design.
• Professional Engineer license in New York required.
• Experience delivering projects for New York public agencies including MTA/NYSDOT/NYCDOT.
• Proficiency with Autodesk Civil 3D, Bentley MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer.
• Mentoring staff and presenting solutions to NYC agencies.

Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to the design of NYC‑based transportation projects.
• Lead a team of civil engineers, ensuring timely project documents.
• Interface with clients, project management and disciplines leads.
• Prepare and review drawings, specs, calculations, and permitting packages.
• Conduct quality reviews of work by junior engineers.
• Manage tasks, components and budgets on civil projects.
• Coordinate among internal/external stakeholders and present solutions.
