Assistant Vice President, Asset Management

Location: Remote (Washington State residents only)Compensation: $140,000–$150,000 base + bonus potential

A national affordable housing owner/operator is seeking an Assistant Vice President of Asset Management to oversee a regional portfolio of LIHTC properties across Washington State. This is a high-impact, remote role requiring deep expertise in affordable housing regulations, asset performance strategy, and stakeholder management. The AVP will oversee a portfolio of 15–18 assets (2,000+ units) and collaborate closely with senior leadership to drive performance, ensure compliance, and support long-term value creation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement asset management strategies to improve NOI, long-term value, and portfolio performance
  • Ensure full compliance with LIHTC, HUD, and other regulatory requirements
  • Lead annual budgeting, capital planning, and financial analysis
  • Collaborate with property management teams to align operational practices with performance goals
  • Identify risks, create corrective plans, and drive outcomes across assigned assets
  • Serve as a strategic partner to executive leadership on portfolio priorities

Candidate Profile:

  • 7+ years of asset management or real estate experience, with a strong focus on affordable housing
  • Deep knowledge of LIHTC, HUD, and federal/state housing compliance
  • Strong financial acumen: budgeting, financial modeling, capital planning
  • Exceptional communication and executive presence
  • Based in Washington State; remote work eligible

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience managing teams or supporting professional development
  • Familiarity with third-party management oversight or affiliate ownership structures
  • Background in private-sector or ROI-driven organizations preferred
