AVP, Commercial Surety Manager- Texas

Job Purpose: Responsible and accountable for the marketing and underwriting of the assigned Surety portfolio within your region for the Allianz Trade North America Surety Team. The AVP, Commercial Surety Underwriter is responsible for maintaining existing broker relationships, recommending new broker relationships, effectively marketing Surety’s capabilities, and underwriting profitable business in the US.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Working with their Regional Surety Manager, executing on the established strategic business plan in order to maintain and expand Allianz Trade’s Surety business in the United States.
  2. Developing and underwriting a profitable portfolio of Surety business through active engagement in the Surety marketplace with existing and new broker relationships in the local market.
  3. Documenting of all decisions and recommendations in a consistent and transparent manner.
  4. Conducting account and portfolio underwriting activities in a manner consistent with underwriting guidelines and portfolio management requirements established by Allianz Trade.
  5. Collaborating with colleagues across the Americas and internationally in order to fully leverage surety capabilities and existing customer base.
  6. Attending industry groups and local surety events, as requested by the Regional Manager.

Key Experience:

  1. Proven ability to underwrite and grow a Surety portfolio.
  2. Strong relationships with local brokers.
  3. Recognized expertise in the underwriting of surety accounts and risks.
  4. Proven track record of successful underwriting results.

Key Requirements:

  1. At least 7+ years industry experience.
  2. Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in surety in the U.S. in your local market.
  3. Entrepreneurial skill set to establish and achieve goals and objectives.
  4. Established track record developing business with brokers.
  5. 4-year college degree with emphasis in business, economics, or finance.

Compensation range: $120,000-$240,000

Placement within the range provided above is based on the individual’s relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary ranges are only one component of our total compensation package.
