Job summary

GM Financial Technology is seeking an AVP of Platform Site Reliability Engineering to lead a strategic, AI-enabled reliability program. You will build and govern a resilient, self-healing platform, drive incident management excellence, and lead teams of SREs/SRAs with a focus on cost optimization and risk reduction.

The role requires a strong software engineering foundation, executive communication, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced, hybrid work environment with selective in-office days.

Qualifications

• Experience leading SRE/Platform teams.
• Proven governance and governance of agentic AI.
• Deep understanding of observability, incident and problem management.
• Experience improving incident trends, MTTR, availability, and toil.
• Experience building resilient, self-healing systems and automation.
• Experience with CI/CD, IaC, DevOps automation, policy as code, test automation.
• Leadership in vulnerability remediation and cloud cost optimization.
• Strong software engineering foundation and scalable design.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the PSRE strategy, roadmap, standards, and operating model.
• Lead adoption of agentic AI across reliability engineering and governance areas.
• Establish automated controls and intelligent agents before delivery milestones.
• Drive self-healing systems with remediation and auditability.
• Improve availability, scalability, and operational efficiency while reducing toil.
• Implement observability across metrics, logs, traces, and user signals.
• Improve MTTR and reduce recurring incidents through RCA and automation.
• Govern incident management, runbooks, and service health across the lifecycle.
• Partner with Cybersecurity, Architecture, Product, and Engineering to reduce risk.
• Establish SLOs, SLIs, error budgets, and executive reporting.
