Job summary

StandardAero Augusta’s Business Aviation MRO is seeking an experienced Avionics Technician/Installer to install, align, and wire components across 25 corporate aircraft models. You will follow wiring diagrams, calibrate systems, and support modifications to ensure flight-critical reliability.

You will collaborate with A&P Mechanics and engineers, uphold FAA and manufacturer standards, and contribute to a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement in a busy maintenance environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of avionic installation experience on fixed-wing aircraft.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working on corporate aircraft (Gulfstream, Hawker, Falcons, Embraer, Challenger).
  • Verifiable experience adhering to electrical and electronic theories and wiring diagrams.
  • Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Install, align, and wire electrical and electronic components such as instruments, sensors, radios, antennas, and lighting.
  • Determine optimal installation methods using manuals and OEM wiring diagrams.
  • Fabricate wiring harnesses and connections as required.
  • Perform continuity checks and assist functional checks of aircraft systems.
  • Collaborate with A&P Mechanics, Techs, Inspectors, and Electricians to resolve issues.

As an Avionics Installer at StandardAero Augusta’s Business Aviation MRO, you will be responsible for installing, aligning, and wiring electrical and electronic components across 25 models of corporate aircraft. This includes instrumentation, navigation, sensors, radios, antennas, flight controls, pitot systems, and lighting. You will set the standard in quality by ensuring all installations meet industry standards and adhere to various regulations and diagrams provided by manufacturers and engineering teams.

What You'll Do
  • Install, align, and wire electrical and electronic components such as instruments, sensors, radio communications, antennas, J-boxes, lights, and more.
  • Determine the best location, method for installing/removing electronic equipment and systems by applying best-practices and adhering to manuals from Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, various mod centers (STC’s), and OEM manufacturers’ wiring diagrams.
  • Fabricate wiring harnesses, solders connector plugs, strips and hand lugs wiring
  • Identify wiring and install surface control indicating systems, performs terminal splicing, wires junction boxes, routes wiring and conduit, as well as performing any other electrical bench or installation work as necessary to complete the electrical repair or modification of the aircraft.
  • Perform continuity checks and may assist in the functional check-out of complete aircraft systems.
  • Assist in troubleshooting, locating, and correcting wiring difficulties, partnering with A&P Mechanics, Structural Technicians, Inspectors, and Electricians
  • Adhere to shop standards, various manufacturers’ standards and practices and has knowledge of various federal and military standards including FAA Advisory Circulars.
Position Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years of Avionics Installation experience on fixed-wing aircraft.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working on corporate aircraft (i.e., Gulfstream, Hawker, Falcon, Embraer, Challenger).
  • Must have verifiable experience adhering to electrical and electronic theories, and wiring diagrams.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must we authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
Preferred Characteristics
  • FCC license
  • Valid FAA A&P license
  • Have extensive knowledge of power sources and bonding and grounding techniques
  • Extensive Corporate / Business Aviation installation experience
  • Experience working on Falcon, Challenger, Hawker, Embraer and/or Gulfstream aircraft.
  • Experience installing StarLink, GoGo, Rockwell Collins, SmartSky or Honeywell products.
