Job description

Avionics Technician II, Service

Build an Aviation Career You’re Proud Of

Your work ties us all together, helping our teams function and operate. Experience opportunities to learn and be a part of an organization that has your back. And with competitive compensation and total rewards, you’ll also enjoy our great perks.

At StandardAero, we're not just maintaining aircraft—we're powering missions, enabling business, and shaping the future of Business Aviation. At our Augusta, GA MRO facility, we’re proud to support a broad range of premier corporate aircraft including Falcon, Challenger, Gulfstream, Hawker, and Embraer models. As we continue expanding our world-class operation—with a 80,500 square foot expansion —there’s never been a better time to join our team.

We are currently seeking an experienced Avionics Technician to support the Service side of our Airframe Operations. In this hands-on role, you’ll perform advanced troubleshooting, diagnostic, and repair work on complex avionics systems—keeping aircraft flight-ready and our clients confident in every mission.

What You’ll Do:
  • Diagnose complex avionics system issues, including communication, navigation, surveillance, cabin management, and flight control systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair Flight Management Systems (FMS,) Satcom and Airborne Radio Telephone Systems, EGPWS/TAWS, communications, navigation, radar, TCAS/XPDR, DME, autopilot/flight director, audio, ADF, Cabin Management/In-flight Entertainment (IFE), and other sophisticated avionics/electronics systems.
  • Interpret and follow technical drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and STC instructions to isolate faults and determine corrective actions.
  • Perform on-aircraft troubleshooting, functional checks, and system-level testing on corporate aircraft avionics and electrical systems.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Planning, and other departments to resolve unique system discrepancies or modification challenges.
  • Repair or replace defective wiring, components, LRUs, connectors, or antennas to restore full operational capability.
  • Utilize OEM manuals, IPCs, AMMs, and FAA guidance to ensure repairs and alterations are in full regulatory compliance.
  • Assist with ramp service troubleshooting events and support AOG response efforts as needed.
  • Complete all required documentation in accordance with FAA regulations and StandardAero’s quality standards.
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety, cleanliness, and FOD prevention practices on the hangar floor.
Position Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3+ years of hands-on Avionics experience—with a strong focus on troubleshooting and service/repair (not just installation).
  • In-depth knowledge of both electrical and electronic principles, and the ability to interpret complex schematics and system layouts.
  • Working knowledge of bonding and grounding techniques, continuity testing, and aircraft power systems.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States, without sponsorship.
Preferred Characteristics:
  • Experience troubleshooting avionics systems on Falcon, Challenger, Gulfstream, Hawker, Embraer, or other corporate/business aircraft platforms.
  • Familiarity with cabin connectivity systems and avionics products such as Starlink, GoGo, SmartSky, Rockwell Collins, or Honeywell.
  • Prior exposure to maintenance tracking programs, STC packages, and engineering documentation is a plus.
  • FCC License and/or FAA A&P License
Benefits That Make Life Better:
  • Relocation & Sign-On Bonus Eligible
  • Comprehensive Health Insurance (Medical, Dental, Vision)
  • 401(k) with 5% company match
  • Paid Time Off accrued from day one
  • Quarterly Bonus Opportunities
  • Short & Long-Term Disability + Life & AD&D Insurance
  • Access to tuition reimbursement and career development programs
