Job summary

Protingent in Kent, WA is seeking an Avionics Technician II for a direct hire. You will build components and assemblies for development, test and flight, collaborating with engineering to refine methods and ensure quality.

You will participate in safety-focused manufacturing, applying torque to fasteners, fabricating and testing wire harnesses, and supporting multiple systems to enable spaceflight programs.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of Aerospace Avionics experience.
  • Familiar with ESD EPA and tool-control processes.
  • Experience with electronics assembly tools and basic test equipment.
  • Experience inspecting and certifying work to relevant standards.
  • Experience applying torque to fasteners/components.
  • Experience fabricating, terminating, and testing wire harnesses.
  • Experience with polymerics application/removal (staking, potting, encapsulation, conformal coating).
  • Able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Able to work a 40-hour week (4x10s) with occasional overtime.

Avionics Technician II

Position Description:

Protingent has an exciting direct hire opportunity for an Avionics Technician with our client in Kent, WA

Job Responsibilities:
  • Building different components and assemblies for all groups across client in all different environments (development, test and flight).
  • Assisting with assembly of new and updated designs by working directly with engineering to determine best practices for assembly.
  • Giving regular input on manufacturing improvement opportunities or build changes leading to more efficient assembly.
  • Serve both internal and external customers across multiple systems and multiple platforms; each Technician is a valued part of the chain that supports safe human spaceflight
  • A focus on safety, collaborative teamwork, and quality allows us to work together to determine the best path forward, balancing speed and safety to create high-quality components that will propel future astronauts and payloads into space for the improvement of mankind.

  • Fabricating, terminating, and repair/testing of wire harnesses.
Job Qualifications:
  • 3 or more years’ experience in Aerospace Avionics or related fields.
  • Familiarity working in an ESD EPA and with tool control/accountability processes.
  • Experience using standard electronics assembly tools, hand soldering and basic electronic test equipment (multimeters and power supplies).
  • Experience inspecting and certifying work performed to relevant standards and specifications.
  • Experience with applying torque to fasteners/components.
  • Experience with fabricating, terminating, and repair/testing of wire harnesses.
  • Experience inspecting and certifying work performed to relevant standards and specifications.
  • Experience with application and removal of polymerics (staking, potting. Encapsulation and conformal coating).
  • Able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work a 40-hour work week (4x10’s) with occasional overtime to support launch schedules.
Desired Job Qualifications:
  • 5-7 years of experience in launch vehicle or propulsion system assembly fabrication, CCA or PCBA repair or component replacement.
  • Experience with energized power/high voltage systems, battery systems or RF assemblies.
  • Certification in and/or knowledge of IPC standards for assembly and inspection.
  • J-STD/J-STD Space, 610, 7711/7721 Rework and 620/620 Space Addendum.
  • Experience and capability to interface with Microsoft Office Suite, electronic work orders and configuration management systems.
  • Experience with documenting non conformances and carrying out dispositioned repairs.
Job Details:
  • Job Type: Contract
  • Location: Kent, WA.
  • Pay Rate Range: $40-$48/hr.
  • ITAR obligations are associated with this role, U.S. citizenship, U.S. legal permanent resident status, or protected person status under 8 U.S.C.
  • 1324b(a) (1), (3) is required.
