Protingent is seeking an Avionics Technician II in Kent, WA to build components and assemblies for multiple environments including development, test, and flight. You will collaborate with engineering to determine best assembly practices and support manufacturing improvements for efficiency.

Protingent has an exciting direct hire opportunity for an Avionics Technician with our client in Kent, WA
Building different components and assemblies for all groups across client in all different environments (development, test and flight). Assisting with assembly of new and updated designs by working directly with engineering to determine best practices for assembly. Giving regular input on manufacturing improvement opportunities or build changes leading to more efficient assembly. Serve both internal and external customers across multiple systems and multiple platforms; each Technician is a valued part of the chain that supports safe human spaceflight. A focus on safety, collaborative teamwork, and quality allows us to work together to determine the best path forward, balancing speed and safety to create high-quality components that will propel future astronauts and payloads into space for the improvement of mankind. Applying torque to fasteners/components. Fabricating, terminating, and repair/testing of wire harnesses.
3 or more years' experience in Aerospace Avionics or related fields. Familiarity working in an ESD EPA and with tool control/accountability processes. Experience using standard electronics assembly tools, hand soldering and basic electronic test equipment (multimeters and power supplies). Experience inspecting and certifying work performed to relevant standards and specifications. Experience with applying torque to fasteners/components. Experience with fabricating, terminating, and repair/testing of wire harnesses. Experience inspecting and certifying work performed to relevant standards and specifications. Experience with application and removal of polymerics (staking, potting. Encapsulation and conformal coating). Able to lift 50 lbs. Ability to work a 40-hour work week (4x10's) with occasional overtime to support launch schedules.
5-7 years of experience in launch vehicle or propulsion system assembly fabrication, CCA or PCBA repair or component replacement. Experience with energized power/high voltage systems, battery systems or RF assemblies. Certification in and/or knowledge of IPC standards for assembly and inspection. J-STD/J-STD Space, 610, 7711/7721 Rework and 620/620 Space Addendum. Experience and capability to interface with Microsoft Office Suite, electronic work orders and configuration management systems. Experience with documenting non conformances and carrying out dispositioned repairs.
Job Type: Contract Location: Kent, WA PayRate Range: $35-$42/hr ITAR obligations are associated with this role, U.S. citizenship, U.S. legal permanent resident status, or protected person status under 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a) (1), (3) is required.
