Avionics Technician I in GAC St. Louis

$3,000 Sign-On Bonus Eligible.

The compensation range for this role is $25.52 - $29.77 per hour.

Final compensation will be determined by factors such as qualifications, knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, and location.

Education and Experience Requirements
High School Diploma or GED required. 2 years related work experience, or two (2) years of accredited schooling in aviation electronics. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics. Position Purpose: Assists in troubleshooting and repairing system discrepancies to minimize schedule impact. Demonstrates technical expertise by implementing process improvements to reduce costs and meet schedules without compromising safety or quality.
Job Description
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Demonstrates basic technical skills in avionics and aircraft systems testing and troubleshooting.
  2. Performs installation and testing of electrical/avionics components according to specifications, ensuring defect-free systems.
  3. Supports quality and efficiency of installations, troubleshooting to provide timely repairs.
  4. Develops skills to repair or replace defective components and wiring, ensuring conformity using techniques like splicing, soldering, and pinning.
  5. Implements engineering changes and modifications as required.
  6. Sets up and operates test equipment; conducts functional and operational tests.
  7. Documents all work for inspection readiness.
  8. Tests and maintains test equipment and electronic systems.
  9. Follows safety, FOD, tool control, and 5-S programs.
Additional Functions:
  1. May include flight tests during aircraft certification and final testing phases.
Performs other duties as assigned.
