Job summary

Lockheed Martin is seeking a U-2 Aircraft Modification Technician to support the Aircraft Modification Team at Beale AFB, California. You will perform electrical and avionics modifications, ensuring high system integrity across modification, upgrade, and overhaul efforts.

Role requires troubleshooting and maintenance of complex aircraft systems, strict adherence to orders and manuals, and occasional travel. A Secret clearance and US citizenship are required for this U.S. position.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of U-2 Avionics/E&E experience or 5 years of fighter experience (F-15, F-16, A-10, etc).
  • Must have a craftsman level (7-Level USAF) in a like position, system or equivalent i.e. Navy, Army.
  • Active Secret Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, install, repair, and maintain U-2 electrical, avionics, landing gear, flight controls, and hydraulic systems.
  • Follow instructions in technical orders, fault isolation manuals and local procedures; document work in maintenance data systems.
  • Maintain aircraft readiness by overseeing maintenance on assigned aircraft; travel domestically and internationally as required.

You will be the U-2 Aircraft Modification Technician for the Aircraft Modification Team which is responsible for delivering precise electrical and avionics modifications to U-2 Aircraft stationed at Beale AFB, California.

What You Will Be Doing

As the U-2 Aircraft Modification Technician you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of aircraft electrical, avionics, and system integrity while supporting modification, upgrade, and overhaul efforts.

Your Responsibilities Will Include
  • Perform troubleshooting, installation, repair, and maintenance of U-2 electrical, avionics, landing gear, flight controls, and hydraulic systems.
  • Execute maintenance actions in compliance with technical orders, fault isolation manuals, and local operational instructions.
  • Document all work in maintenance data collection systems and ensure accuracy of records.
  • Maintain aircraft readiness by overseeing all maintenance performed on assigned aircraft.
  • Support frequent domestic and international travel, complying with passport and security requirements.

Further Information About This Opportunity

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN –This position is located at a facility that requiresspecial access. The selected candidate must possess an active Secretclearance to start. Candidate must have strong communications and interpersonal skills. Must read, write and speak English fluently.

Physical Requirements

This position may include certain required health screenings and immunizations. Position may also require extended work hours. Regularly required to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive movements, work overhead, use hands to grasp, handle, and/or feel, reach with hands and arms. Basic Qualifications

The following Basic Qualifications are skills that a candidate must possess to be considered for this position:

Desired Skills

The following Desired Skills are not required but are those skills that would set a candidate apart from other candidates:

  • U-2 Aircraft experience highly desired.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals, understanding symbols, flags, and general notes Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems / rewire terminate and buildup connectors.
  • Ability to identify aircraft locations by station, butt-line, and waterline as shown or engineering documentation, technical orders and blue prints
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Knowledge and ability to perform multiple skill requirements
  • Willing to be trained and/or certified in special skill
  • Aircraft Mod Experience
Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $37.55 - $69.71

PTO, Vacation, sick leave and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
