Varda Space Industries seeks a Systems Engineer II, Avionics to lead avionics design, integration, and testing for the Winnebago Spaceship. You will ensure readiness for launch and operational phases, collaborating with multiple engineering teams and mentoring junior engineers.

The role requires deep knowledge of avionics system design, manufacturing processes, and HITL verification, with emphasis on test automation and mission readiness for space manufacturing and reentry operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
• 3+ years of system design, test planning, and validation
• Proficiency in Python programming
• Experience with power supplies, modular DAQ systems, RTD and 4-20mA devices, and general test equipment

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross functional teams to define project scopes and initial requirements, guiding designs from concept to prototype and full-scale production.
• Develop electrical architecture, system diagrams, and budgets for power, telemetry, and mass predictions.
• Analyze architecture for faults and risks and develop mitigation plans, including FDIR.
• Conduct verification plans for avionics systems on flight and HITL hardware.
• Participate in mission operations as an Avionics specialist or system operator.
