Job summary

HII - Mission Technology is seeking a qualified Journeyman Avionics Engineer with Computer Systems Software Airworthiness experience for role at Wright-Patterson AFB, OH. TS/SCI clearance is required and position is full-time on-site.

Responsibilities include supporting DoD documentation per DoDI 5000.02, AIRworthiness processes per MIL-HDBK-516, and participation in program reviews and technical meetings. Strong DoD avionics background and leadership capabilities are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 9 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 7 years with Masters; or 4 years with PhD/JD.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant DoD experience and an ABET-accredited Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• Two (2) years must be in a special access DoD acquisition program as a sub-system lead.
• Minimum of five (5) years of relevant DoD Avionics experience plus 5 additional years in Engineering.
• Knowledge designing, developing, integrating and testing Computer Systems & Software for airworthiness.
• Experience assessing hardware, software, and systems to meet airworthiness criteria (MIL-HBK-516).
• Active TS/SCI clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Support development and review of documentation and products per DoDI 5000.02.
• Assist with Airworthiness processes per MIL-HDBK-516 and LCSE/OSS&E per AFMCI 63-1201.
• Support implementation of Air Force Integrity Programs.
• Support requirements development, allocation, and verification.
• Review and evaluate weapon system design, analyses, and verification reports.
• Gather and develop data to build program briefs and present them when needed.
• Support program meetings, working groups, and reviews as needed.
• Analyze equipment and software performance deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
• Support contract/documentation changes and updates.
• Support source selections in a technical advisory role.
