Job summary

HII Mission Technologies seeks an experienced Avionics Engineer to support Wright Patterson AFB in Dayton, OH. You’ll translate user requirements into system requirements and help design, develop, fabricate, test, and evaluate avionics subsystems for defense missions.

The role requires knowledge of avionics subsystems, DoD processes, and a DoD/secret clearance. Compensation includes a salary range and comprehensive benefits in a mission-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Avionics Engineer 3 - 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
• Avionics Engineer 4 - 9 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 7 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience.
• Experience in design and troubleshooting of Avionics subsystems such as EGPWS, Transponders, TCAS, ACARS, VHF/UHF/HF radios, DME, MMR, and CVR.

Responsibilities

• Assist in performing technological/trade-off assessments and translating requirements into system requirements for design, development, fabrication, testing and evaluation of systems and subsystems.
• Support producing or reviewing technical evaluations, plans, analyses, and acquisition strategies such as System Specifications, RFPs, Test Plans and ATPs.
• Support project meetings and reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, TCM, TIM, FCA, PCA, PMR).
• Assist in analyzing equipment and software deficiencies and develop fixes.
• Support analyses including avionics system design feasibility and life-cycle cost considerations.
• Assist in risk assessments and scheduling trade-offs for performance, cost, and producibility.
