Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a software engineer to contribute to avionics software on Blue Origin rocket engines, building and testing real-time embedded systems. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across the full software lifecycle.

Responsibilities include developing verifiable requirements, defining architecture, coding, unit testing, and integration with a focus on C/C++, Python, and robust interfaces in a safety-critical US environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on experience developing and testing real-time embedded systems.
• Proficiency in C/C++ and Python; experience with Git and Gitlab.
• Experience debugging at the software/hardware boundary; API/interface design.
• Experience with serial communications and networking protocols (TCP/IP).
• Experience developing tools, Agile methodologies, and interfacing with sensors/actuators.
• Multitasking and collaboration; commitment to inclusive culture; US work authorization.

Responsibilities

• Participate in development and verification of avionics software components on Blue Origin rocket engines.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and participate deeply in all aspects of the software development lifecycle.
• Build and test real-time embedded software that controls rocket engines for human-capable spacecraft.
• Develop verifiable requirements, define software architecture and design, develop code, unit test and integrate software.
