Job summary

Honeywell Aerospace in Phoenix, AZ, seeks a Software Engineer I to help design, develop, and integrate avionics software for next‑generation flight decks. The role covers the full lifecycle from system definition to on‑aircraft testing in a hybrid work model.

You will collaborate with a team to enable lab and flight testing, focusing on performance, reliability and certification readiness for advanced avionics platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics.
• 1+ years of experience in software engineering, avionics, or a related technical field (including internships, co-ops, or academic projects).
• Experience with programming languages C, C++, Python, PowerShell.
• Experience with real-time operating systems (e.g., DEOS, ARINC 653).
• Experience with debuggers like gdb, visual studio.

Responsibilities

• Support IMA systems software integration activities
• Assist with software validation and verification efforts
• Contribute to Key Program Indicators (KPI) tracking and validation
• Participate in requirements analysis and decomposition
• Support model-based development and system design activities
• Assist with integration testing and troubleshooting
