Job summary

Impulse Space in Redondo Beach, CA seeks an Avionics Manufacturing Supervisor to hire, mentor and manage avionics technicians supporting space vehicle builds. You will lead production for PCBAs, electromechanical assemblies, and related testing, while collaborating with design, manufacturing, and quality teams.

You should have 5+ years of manufacturing leadership in electrical/optical hardware, experience building and developing a manufacturing team, and hands-on exposure to ATP testing and

Qualifications

• 5+ years professional experience manufacturing electrical and optical hardware.
• Demonstrated leadership and ability to grow people.
• Experience with PCB assemblies production (soldering, conformal coating).
• Experience with electromechanical assemblies.
• Experience with ATP testing including electrical and environmental testing.
• Ability to communicate technical challenges and resolve concerns.

Responsibilities

• Hire, develop and mentor avionics manufacturing technicians
• Provide production coordination by driving manufacturing schedule and day-to-day support for PCBAs and electromechanical assembly
• Acceptance testing of avionics, hardware, including environmental and electrical testing
• Collaborate with design engineers, manufacturing engineers and quality teams to ensure manufacturability, DFM/DFA compliance, and long-term reliability
• Set daily and weekly production targets, backed by performance metrics such as rate and yield
• Develop, document, and optimize manufacturing processes for avionics
• Establish and maintain high technical standards through specifications and training
• Manage space, equipment and consumables in the avionics cleanroom
