Job summary

Stratolaunch in Mojave, CA is seeking an Avionics Manufacturing Engineer (ME I–Sr) to support design, integration, testing and maintenance of electrical and avionics systems on our carrier and hypersonic vehicles. You will create manufacturing work instructions and 2D/3D drawings to enable production on the shop floor and ensure producibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent
• 0-20 years of engineering experience
• Experience with aerospace production documentation and revision control
• Experience with aircraft electrical power systems
• Experience creating shop work instructions
• Familiarity with aerospace hardware such as connectors, relays, and wire types
• Direct hands-on experience with aircraft electrical systems
• Ability to communicate technical challenges across audiences
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities

Responsibilities

• Create work instructions to fabricate, install or modify electrical and/or avionics subsystems
• Create drawings and work instructions for tooling supporting production
• Reference 3D CAD models and integrate into 2D environments
• Support shop as engineering liaison and troubleshoot documentation issues
• Troubleshoot electrical and avionics ground test issues
• Develop test plans and procedures as required
• Support hypersonic vehicle integrated testing
• Contribute to shop layout, setup and improvement
• Regular communication to leadership
• Travel as needed
