Job summary

SpaceX in Hawthorne, CA is seeking an Avionics Manufacturing Engineer to own the full manufacturing process of avionics hardware, including PCBA and sensors, from design for manufacturability to environmental testing.

You will act as liaison across engineering, supply chain, and production, drive automation of processes, qualification of new equipment, and develop tooling to improve repeatability and efficiency. A hands-on engineer with strong communication will excel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
• 1+ years' experience in design, manufacturing, or production of hardware.
• Knowledge of design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for test (DFT).

Responsibilities

• Act as liaison between avionics engineering, supply chain, production to meet rate objectives.
• Implement and automate high reliability manufacturing processes.
• Drive design updates in response to manufacturing issues and part obsolescence.
• Select and qualify new equipment for electronics manufacturing.
• Design, develop, validate, and implement tooling for repeatability and efficiency.
• Contribute to design reviews as an expert in manufacturability and testability.
• Prepare engineering docs for transition from development to production.
