Job summary

SpaceX in Redmond, WA is seeking a Reliability Engineer to ensure the reliability of EEE components, avionics and PCBA across mission timelines. You will collaborate with design, supply chain and production to drive issue closure and develop robust reliability strategies.

You will lead test planning, build reliability models (MTTF/WEIBULL) and guide HALT/HASS testing, enabling safer, longer-lasting space hardware. Strong teamwork required.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in semiconductor, package, and/or PCBA reliability.
• 2+ years of reliability modelling to predict product life and analyze test data.

Responsibilities

• Use reliability physics of failure models and statistics to assess risk and plan accelerated tests.
• Lead reliability test planning, methodology and execution.
• Drive avionics EEE part reliability issues toward closure.
• Develop reliability prediction models and FEM/FEA to evaluate life performance.
• Interface with supply chain, design engineers and production.
• Coordinate failure analysis and destructive physical analysis investigations.
• Analyze options to inform electronics design for reliability (materials, laminates, finishes, soldering).
• Advise on HALT/HASS testing for PCBAs.
• Execute reliability testing campaigns on hardware and components.
