Job summary

SpaceX is seeking an Avionics Manufacturing Engineer (PCBA) in Hawthorne, CA. You will own the full PCBA manufacturing process for SpaceX launch vehicles and crew capsules, driving design for manufacturability and continuous improvement across product, process, and equipment.

The role collaborates across avionics, supply chain, and production to hit rate objectives, automate processes, and implement tooling for repeatability. A strong background in PCBAs, SMT, X-Ray, and CAD is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline required.
• 1+ years in design, manufacturing, or production of mechanical or electrical hardware systems.

Responsibilities

• Act as liaison between avionics, supply chain, and production to meet rate objectives.
• Implement and automate high reliability manufacturing processes.
• Drive design updates in response to manufacturing issues and part obsolescence.
• Select and qualify new equipment for electronics manufacturing.
• Design, develop, validate and implement tooling for repeatability and efficiency.
• Contribute to design reviews on manufacturability, testability and quality.
• Primary contact for non-conforming product and root-cause investigations.
• Prepare documentation for transition from development to production.
• Develop training requirements for production personnel.
• Challenge status quo to support SpaceX goals.
