Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking an Avionics Manufacturing Engineer to own the full manufacturing process of avionics hardware, including PCBA and sensors, electromechanical assembly, and environmental testing. You will drive manufacturability and testability improvements, and serve as the primary liaison among avionics, supply chain, and production teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering.
• 1+ year of experience in design, manufacturing, and/or production of mechanical or electrical hardware systems.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary liaison between avionics engineering, supply chain, production, etc. to ensure rate objectives are met through manufacturing and test.
• Implement, simplify, and automate high reliability manufacturing processes so production teams can operate independently of engineering.
• Drive design updates in response to manufacturing issues, part obsolescence, and system requirement changes.
• Select and qualify new equipment for electronics manufacturing and drive continuous improvement on existing assets.
• Design, develop, validate, and implement tooling to ensure manufacturing repeatability and efficiency.
• Contribute to design reviews as an expert in manufacturability, testability, and yield improvements.
• Handle non-conforming product, troubleshooting, root cause, and corrective actions.
• Prepare engineering documentation for transition from development to production including procedures and drawings.
• Develop training requirements for production personnel.
• Work to challenge the status quo and support the company's goals.
