Job summary

Mach Industries in Huntington Beach, CA, seeks an Avionics Build Engineer to own avionics builds from prototype to production. You will integrate electrical systems, create and maintain manufacturing instructions, and troubleshoot issues with technicians and engineers to improve quality and throughput.

The role requires hands‑on experience with electrical systems, schematics, and test equipment, plus the ability to work with design teams on DFx improvements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer/Aerospace or related field; hands‑on experience may count.
  • 1+ years in electrical/avionics/hardware in production environment.
  • Experience reading schematics, wiring diagrams, pinouts and drawings.
  • Hands‑on experience building or troubleshooting electrical systems, PCB assemblies, or wire harnesses.
  • Understanding of DC/AC circuits, grounding, power distribution, and signal integrity.
  • Experience with electrical test equipment (DMMs, oscilloscopes, power supplies).
  • Ability to troubleshoot hardware from symptoms to root cause.

Responsibilities

  • Own the build, integration, and bring‑up of avionics systems and wire harnesses.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing instructions, BOMs, drawings, and assembly docs.
  • Troubleshoot hardware using schematics and test equipment; implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with design to build prototypes and improve DFx/DFM.
  • Drive safety, quality, cost, and throughput improvements by reducing defects and bottlenecks.
  • Develop tooling, fixtures, and production aids to improve repeatability.
  • Train manufacturing staff on new processes and tools.
