Job summary

Mach Industries in Huntington Beach, CA, seeks an avionics-focused engineer to integrate avionics systems for unmanned platforms. You will bridge GNC, software, and hardware disciplines to ensure a robust, testable architecture for vehicle prototypes.

You’ll design, test, and troubleshoot hardware and software interfaces, develop block diagrams, and support post-integration configurations. A passion for aviation and unmanned systems is essential, with hands-on experience using PX4/ArduPilot.

Qualifications

• 1–4 years of experience with unmanned aerial systems (UAS).
• Working knowledge of PX4 and ArduPilot basics.
• Familiarity with QGroundControl and Mission Planner configurations.
• Understanding of Pixhawk, MAVLink, and sensor interfaces.
• Knowledge of RF systems, comms, and software-defined radios.
• Experience with Linux environments and GitHub workflows.
• CAD for prototyping and electronics PCB debugging.
• Lab tools: oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, multimeter.
• Ability to document clearly and maintain version-controlled docs.
• Demonstrated ability to work under deadlines and maintain quality.

Responsibilities

• Development and integration of Avionics systems.
• Define and maintain functionality with vehicle iterations.
• Create high-level block diagrams of functions and interfaces.
• Collaborate with vehicle teams on electrical requirements.
• Design and support Iron-birds, prototypes, and special projects.
• Troubleshoot avionics hardware and software; implement solutions.
• Test new systems and sensors; ensure compatibility with prototypes.
• Configure post-integration checks and training for technicians.
• Develop processes and procedures for avionics workflows.
