Job summary

ST Engineering Aerospace in Pensacola, FL, seeks an experienced Avionics Crew Chief to lead a skilled crew and ensure avionics maintenance meets safety and quality standards. You will supervise technicians, train staff, and coordinate resources to keep projects on schedule.

You will report to the Senior Crew Chief and work at Pensacola International Airport. The role requires strong leadership, extensive avionics knowledge, and a commitment to excellence in aircraft reliability and performance.

We are a renowned provider of aircraft maintenance and modification (AMM) services for commercial airlines and air freight operators. What YOU will do

The Crew Chief shall be responsible to his/her Senior Crew Chief / Manager for the overall operation of his/her crew. The Crew Chiefs duties shall be assigned / reassigned by your Senior Crew Chief / Manager. When performing Crew Chief duties as described in this section, the employee is directly supervising the technicians on your assigned crew.

In This Role YOU will
  • Provides on‑the‑job training and technical assistance to personnel in your crew.
  • Evaluates the performance of personnel on your crew and makes recommendations as necessary to your supervisor.
  • Performs only that work authorized by your senior crew chief and ensures that the work is performed to the standards of good workmanship required by ST Aerospace Mobile, Inc.
  • Ensures that all tools and equipment used by your crew are kept in serviceable condition and stored in an orderly manner.
  • Recommends to your supervisor any requirements or improvements for your crew.
  • Exercises control over stock checked out of the Stockroom by employees on your crew.
  • Completes your crew timecards and approves all hours worked.
  • Reports to your senior crew chief, with recommendations for any personnel problems that cannot be resolved satisfactorily within the crew.
  • Recommends disciplinary action within your crew.
  • Assists your senior crew chief as requested in the evaluation of non‑routine work cards for parts, man‑hours and span time, and indicates corrective action.
  • Monitors, continuously, work progress.
  • Keeps your supervisor apprised of the status at all times, particularly on jobs that are off schedule.
  • Assists his/her senior crew chief in preparation of the shift status and change‑over reports.
  • Performs any work that may be assigned by your senior crew chief.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Good working knowledge of all appropriate mechanical skill levels, through understanding of all FAR’s and company policies and procedures, through knowledge of all aircraft manuals and related materials, knowledge of all maintenance and internal paperwork including all personnel forms and documentation.

INTERPERSONAL ENVIRONMENT

A moderate level of interpersonal skills is required to maintain an effective relationship with various departments, co‑workers and management.

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT

Requires easy mobility around all sections of the facility and the dexterity to install various electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems. Must possess the ability to distinguish colors to perform work adequately. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

What YOU Need
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Airframe license and/or repairman certificate
  • 4 years of heavy commercial aircraft maintenance experience, heavy maintenance work experience in the Avionics field required
