Job summary

ST Engineering Aerospace in Pensacola, FL is seeking an Airframe Powerplant General (APG) Crew Chief to lead a heavy maintenance crew on large commercial aircraft. You will train, guide, and support technicians, manage work progress, ensure safety, quality, and compliance, and serve as the critical link between leadership and line execution in a fast-paced MRO environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 4 years of heavy commercial aircraft maintenance experience in APG field required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-the-job training and technical assistance to personnel on your crew.
  • Evaluate the performance of personnel on your crew and make recommendations as necessary to their supervisor.
  • Perform only that work authorized by your senior crew chief and ensure that the work is performed to the standards of good workmanship.
  • Ensure that all tools and equipment used by your crew are kept in serviceable condition and stored in an orderly manner.
  • Monitor crew time and ensure time is approved by your manager.
  • Report to your senior crew chief with recommendations on personnel issues.
  • Assist in evaluation of non-routine work cards for parts and manhours.
  • Monitor, continuously, work progress and keep your senior crew chief apprised of status.

We are a renowned provider of aircraft maintenance and modification (AMM) services for commercial airlines and air freight operators. What YOU will do:

The APG Crew Chief shall be responsible to your Senior Crew Chief/ Manager for the overall operation of his/her crew. The Crew Chiefs duties shall be assigned / reassigned by your Senior Crew Chief/Manager.

In This Role YOU will:
  • Provide on-the-job training and technical assistance to personnel on your crew.
  • Evaluate the performance of personnel on your crew and make recommendations as necessary to their supervisor.
  • Perform only that work authorized by your senior crew chief and ensure that the work is performed to the standards of good workmanship required by Pensacola Aerospace
  • Ensure that all tools and equipment used by your crew are kept in serviceable condition and stored in an orderly manner.
  • Recommend to your supervisor any requirements or improvements for your crew.
  • Exercise control over stock checked out of Stockroom by employees on your crew.
  • Monitor their crew time and ensure time has been approved by your manager
  • Report to your senior crew chief, with recommendations on any personnel problems that cannot be resolved satisfactorily within the crew.
  • Recommend disciplinary action within their crew.
  • Assist your senior crew chief as requested in the evaluation of non-routine work cards for parts, manhours and span time, and indicate corrective action.
  • Monitor, continuously, work progress.
  • Keep your senior crew chief always apprised of the status, particularly on jobs that are off schedule.
  • Assist your senior crew chief in preparation of the shift status and change-over reports.
INTERPERSONAL ENVIORMENT:

A high level of interpersonal skills is requiredto maintain an effective relationship with various departments, co-workers andmanagement PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:

Requires easy mobility around all sections ofthe facility and the dexterity to install various electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems.Must possess the ability to distinguish colors to perform work adequately. Must be ableto lift 50 lbs. and report to work regularly.

  • 4 years of heavy commercial aircraft maintenance, heavy maintenance work experience in the APG field required
