Job summary

ST Engineering Aerospace in Pensacola, FL, located at Pensacola International Airport, seeks a Quality Control Lead to guide inspectors and ensure every aircraft meets FAA standards. You will balance hands‑on inspections with team leadership, reviewing logs and mentoring staff to uphold safety and efficiency.

The role requires an A&P license, 5 years in heavy commercial aircraft maintenance, and at least 2 years of inspection experience.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise all Inspectors on your crew.

• Assign and monitor inspectors’ duties and ensure proper completion of work in progress.
• Ensure proper installation, safety and workmanship; accept or reject work generated on the work order.
• Maintain entries in aircraft maintenance flight logs and airworthiness release.

What YOU will do:

The Lead Inspector shall be responsible to the Supervisor of Quality Control for the activities of all Inspectors assigned to your crew.

In This Role YOU will:

• Assist and direct all personnel assigned to your crew.
• Review incoming aircraft maintenance logs for items of work required to be accomplished at the Repair Station.
• Procure required forms and work orders and transfer work to be accomplished to forms.
• Assign and monitor inspectors’ duties.
• Survey all work in progress.
• Accept or reject work accomplished for all items generated on the work order.
• Ensure that shift inspectors give essential tie‑in to their relief to ensure proper completion of work in progress.
• Be responsible for entries in the aircraft maintenance flight logs, as well as the airworthiness release.
• Check for proper installation, security, safety and workmanship.
• Conduct pressure checks if necessary.
• Check for proper material and fasteners.
• Check for conformance to specification per repair, maintenance or other relevant manual or applicable engineering instruction approved by the FAA.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Good working knowledge of all aircraft job tasks, through understanding of all applicable FAR’s and company policy and procedures through knowledge of all aircraft manuals and related materials. Strong knowledge of all company and customer paperwork and a thorough knowledge of blueprint and drawing instructions.

INTERPERSONAL RELATIONS:

A strong level of interpersonal skills is required to maintain an effective relationship with various departments, inspectors, co‑workers, supervision and the customer.

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:

Requires easy mobility around various sections of aircraft. Requires mental skills and quickness with the ability to cope with stress and intense effort or exertion usually caused by long working hours. Working environment requires standing 90% of the workday on hard surfaces. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and to report to work regularly
