Job summary

Vast is seeking an Avionics Buyer II in Long Beach, CA, reporting to the Director, Avionics Supply Chain, to support design and build of space-station systems. This full-time, exempt role located in Long Beach collaborates with Legal, Contracts, Finance, Planning, Operations, and Engineering to manage supplier performance.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in relevant field and 2–4+ years in sourcing/procurement, with travel up to 20% and willingness to work evenings/weekends for mission milestones.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 2–4+ years of experience in sourcing/procurement, supply chain, or manufacturing operations.
• Experience supporting supplier selection, RFQ/RFP cycles, negotiations, and PO placement.
• Exposure to manufacturing and/or aerospace supply chains strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full procurement lifecycle for assigned commodities/categories, from demand identification through fulfillment.
• Manage supply base against business KPIs and drive supplier improvement activities.
• Collaborate with Legal, Contracts, Finance, Planning, Operations, Program Management, Engineering, and Quality to manage supplier performance.
