Job summary

Vast Space Llc. in Long Beach, CA, seeks an Avionics Buyer II to manage full procurement lifecycle for aerospace components. You will drive supplier selection, negotiations and contracting strategies, and collaborate across Legal, Finance, and Engineering to ensure on-time delivery.

Travel up to 20% and readiness for high‑stress missions are required. Minimum qualifications include a BA/BS in Business, Supply Chain, or Engineering and 2–4+ years in procurement or manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field.
• 2–4+ years of experience in sourcing/procurement, supply chain, or manufacturing operations.
• Experience supporting supplier selection, RFQ/RFP cycles, negotiations, and PO placement.
• Exposure to manufacturing and/or aerospace supply chains strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full procurement lifecycle for assigned commodities/categories, from demand identification through fulfillment.
• Manage supply base against business KPI’s and drive supplier improvement activities.
• Inform and influence partner organizations to drive strategic and tactical initiatives.
• Align source selection, negotiation, and contracting strategies with program and product strategies.
• Review contracts and Terms & Conditions; lead negotiations and build should-cost models.
• Coordinate with Legal, Contracts, Finance, Planning, Operations, Program Management, Engineering, and Quality to manage supplier performance.
• Communicate proactively and align messaging to business priorities.
• Flag risks to schedule, cost, and delivery and share commodity strategies.
